The 9th Annual Christmas Workshop has ended for this year. Although the attendance was lower than previous years, the enthusiasm was just as high if not higher. Some of the comments are entered below.

This year Outlines, Magenta, Hero Arts, PK Glitz, and I donated lots of wonderful door prizes. Lynda Bowman gave over 100 free stamps which allowed everone to walkaway with several. Stephanie Powell-Moulds not only drove a long distance to get here, but she came loaded with free door prizes and some old in-good-shape magazines for the first ladies who came through the door at the afternoon session.

The classes were great! Cindy Mayer, Teresa Wagner, and  Lorraine Revalee put in a lot of hard work, but their projects were very well received. I had some wonderful help this year, as I have in years past. Fritzi Farber was a greeter and a store helper. Sally Proctor was also a greeter. Cheryl Adams was Friday's store helper. I couldn't do this workshop without the help of these 3 ladies.

There are extra kits available in the shop for $1.00 each with extra ornaments costing $.50 each. I believe there are extra kits for all 3 projects and the 2 demos.

The picture to your left shows all but one of my helpers (left-to-right): Lorraine Revalee, Cindy Mayer, Teresa Wagner, Sally Proctor and Fritzi Farber.

2010 Christmas Tree Card by Lorraine Revalee

Score and fold squares.

Hold center fold vertically—check that first square added is not too close to center of fold.

Put double stick tape on center side of sq.#1 & ds tape on right angle edge of sq. #2.

Do square #3 the same.

Punch 3 holes –not to close to the edge in square #3.

Stamp Xmas designs on cream square.  Cut decorated square diagonally & adhere one piece to front of card and one to inside square to show through the holes.

Adhere green rings with glue stick .  Adhere octagon with medallion on inside.

Adhere octagon on front & add snowflake @ mounting tape.

Brenda Preuss demoed the use of her newest favorite product - Distress Crackle Paint by Ranger. Her tip to get the best crackle is to use a coated cardstock, like paint chips.
Brenda Preuss also demoed her favorite new technique which is Watermarking. Watermarking simply uses Distress Inkpads and water. The backgrounds made with this technique are simply gorgeous!

2010 9th Annual Christmas Workshop

Here are some written testimonials that I have received regarding the 2010 workshop. I would appreciate all your input so please e-mail me with your comments and suggestions.

Sue Carle said “I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and that was my first time doing card stamping.  I hope to become more involved..."

Noelani DeRossett said “Ellie and I really enjoyed your Christmas Workshop.  You & your instructors were most helpful and gracious.  … Thanks again for a great workshop.”

Marge Norris said: I had a wonderful time at the workshop.  I liked all of the projects and thought the instructors did a great job.  What a lot of time and preparation went into all of the presentations.  I looked forward to the workshop for a long time and as I told you, I scheduled my fall trip to the Glade to include the workshop.  I can’t wait to see what you have in store for next year – although I’m sure you don’t want to even think about it for several months!  Thanks again for a great time!

Samantha Hamby said: I had a great time and have been telling everyone how great it was.

Stephanie Powell-Moulds said: “WOW! Another great Christmas Workshop!! I always have a great time and make such fun things. It's so wonderful of you and your creative instructors to put this much work into providing such a creative experience for all of us! I don't mind driving three hours round trip because I know the workshop will be worth every minute of the drive!

Thanks so much to all of your creative teachers and especially to you, Brenda, for organizing and hosting and the great demos! I am trying out some of the techniques I learned at the workshop already!

     See you again next year!!”

Fritzi Farber said “I thought the Christmas workshop was fantastic!”

Nancy Walker said, “Thanks for the coupon, Brenda!  As usual, I did learn something there!  I only hope I can remember what I learned!  Lol!  You and your instructors always come up with new techniques or ideas with old ones!  I went home and assembled the bell card.  The crackle on that bell looks like a branch from a pine tree or a fern leaf.  It is so unique!  I haven’t ever had my crackle paint do that.  But the hint about the paint chips is wonderful.”

Our photographer (better know as Paul, my husband) did not take pictures this year so it was left up to me. I usually forgot. So there are only a few pictures taken this year. I guess I'll have to rais ehis salary to get him to work the camera next year.
And last but definitely not least is another store helper. Cheryl Adams can always be counted on to help out. Thanks, Cheryl!
