CHALLENGE

Last updated 1-25-2012

Some of you used to participate in this. What happened to all of you? Of course, I haven't been prompt about posting the challenges so I'll try to do better if you will. I'm looking for some more challenges.

This is still open to anyone who would like to participate in the monthly challenge. To enter please scan your card and e-mail it to me or send the actual card to me. Also, write a few notes about how it was created.

For November Brenda has some cut-off ends from wooden shades that one of her friends saved for her. If you would like to participate, drop by the shop to pick up a piece. At the same time, you could take a piece of strong, thin plastic used to wrap around boxes when shipping that Nancy Calava has provided for our January challenge.

Joan Azevedo cut the shade into the shape of a garden fence to contain her flowers.

Nancy Calava used the shade as an oriental background.

Cindy Mayer used hers as a fence also. Look closely and you will see how she used green netting to resemble plants in the foreground. Lots of punches were used as embellishments.

Judy Olds created a beautiful card with another Oriental flair to it. She used the shade as a simple and elegant layer.

Brenda Preuss used her shade as guess what! A shade! Look carefully and you can see the shadow of a lady behind the closed shade. The glass windows were made from acetate and the window frame from a new cardstock that resembles wood in both color and texture from Announcement Converters. The flowers were made with Flower Soft.

Kay West used her shade as a geometric background for her geometric card. The card looks like a southwestern card with the lovely colors used.

December's Format challenge was provided by Carol Heath, but I forgot to upload the basic guide.

Joan Azevedo created this card filled with Christmas cheer.

Nancy Calava added bling to her birthday card.

Fritzi Farber had glitter and glam to the card indicative of the season.

Carol Heath used several Peel-Offs for the lovely Autumn card.

Marge Norris made this lovely teal card that I tried hard to pass off as my own.

Judy Olds made this adorable card that could be for Christmas or any time of year.

Kay West also used the very popular Peel-Offs to create her Christmas-themed card.

2012 The start of a new year....

For January Nancy Calava gave us the plastic strip that is sometimes wrapped around boxes for shipping. This is a tough one! But we're looking for some different ideas.Only 2 of us came up with an idea. I said it was tough.

Nancy Calava used her packing strip to make these clever flowers. You may not be able to tell from the scan, but she lightly colored the tip of the flowers, too. I forgot to ask what she used to do that.

Brenda Preuss used her packing strip as a stamp. She made the criss-cross pattern by inking her strip with metallic gold ink and laying it down in a perpendicular fashion, re-inking after each stamping.

Marge Norris provided the format challenge for February so let's see if we can get a few more entries.

Brenda Preuss brought some inexpensive plastic purple Mardi Gras beads for March's challenge. This gives plenty of time to work on something exciting for that card.
